The role
This is a hands-on technical internship where the intern will design, build, and test production AI systems, including predictive models, time series forecasting, reinforcement learning, optimization, and LLM applications. The intern will work on real business problems, collaborate with stakeholders, and contribute to shipping AI solutions into daily workflows. The role is based in Santa Monica, CA and is for Summer 2027.

What you would do
- Help frame business problems and build models to answer them
- Build predictive models including time series forecasting
- Develop experimentation frameworks and optimization systems
- Contribute to reinforcement learning systems
- Build production LLM applications like RAG and structured extraction
- Prototype emerging AI techniques and tools
Must have
- Enrolled in Master's or PhD program in CS, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related
- Coursework or project experience in AI/ML with strong statistical foundations
- Experience in at least one of predictive modeling, time series, experiment design, optimization, or RL
- Hands-on experience building LLM applications including prompt engineering and RAG
- Proficiency in Python and data science libraries like Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong communication skills to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Nice to have
- Experience with enterprise data and AI platforms like Palantir Foundry or similar
- Experience with cloud-based AI/ML tools
- Experience applying data science to real business problems through internships or projects
- Exposure to AI/ML governance, ethics, or responsible AI practices
