What it is trying to claim: That you examined data and drew something out of it.
Why it underperforms
It stops at the looking. Analysis is only worth reporting if something changed because of it, and the verb has no room for what changed. It is also the single most common word on data and finance résumés, so it distinguishes nothing on its own.
