What you would do
- Participate in all aspects of commercial pharmacy dispensing, including prospective DUR, PV1 and PV2
- Prepare customized non-sterile compounded medications like troches, tablets, creams, and capsules
- Follow all SOPs, Master Formulation Records, and Compounding Records for accuracy and compliance
- Assist in creating new SOPs and formulations
- Ensure full compliance with USP <795> and <800> standards
- Perform and document quality assurance checks including potency, pH, and weight variation
Must have
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor's in Pharmacy from ACPE-accredited institution
- Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist license in good standing or eligible for licensure
- Strong foundational knowledge of pharmaceutics, pharmacology, and pharmaceutical calculations
- Ability to stand for extended periods during compounding activities
- Manual dexterity to handle compounding equipment and small quantities of ingredients
- Ability to lift up to 55 pounds
- Visual acuity for reading prescriptions and inspecting preparations
Nice to have
- Previous compounding experience through rotations, internships, or elective coursework
- Familiarity with USP <795> and <800> guidelines
- Experience with compounding software and pharmacy management systems
- Completion of or enrollment in a compounding certificate program
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn and grow under an experienced compounding mentor
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
