What you would do
- Design and maintain backend services, APIs, and data models
- Own scalability, reliability, and performance of backend systems
- Define backend architecture and API design standards
- Lead technical design for complex cross-functional initiatives
- Act as a technical leader and unblock engineers across teams
- Partner with front-end engineers for seamless service integration
Must have
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong backend focus in professional experience
- Experience operating at a Staff+ level
- Ability to influence technical direction across teams
- Proven ability to design and scale backend systems
- Strong system design experience with distributed systems
- Experience building production-grade backend services end-to-end
- Strong proficiency in Python or Node.js
- Solid experience with relational or NoSQL databases
- Experience with API design
- Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
- Ability to turn loosely defined problems into scalable systems
Nice to have
- Familiarity with B2B SaaS or internal tools
- Experience with platform or integration-heavy systems
- Healthcare or regulated environment experience with HIPAA or PHI
