The role
Anaconda is hiring a Principal Product Designer to own the design system end-to-end, including tokens, components, and governance, across two converging product surfaces. The role involves leading a migration to a modern stack, establishing AI-forward design patterns, and working in both design and code. This is a senior individual contributor position reporting to the VP of Design.

What you would do
- Own design system end-to-end including tokens, components, and documentation
- Lead migration of component architecture to modern stack with engineering
- Define governance for versioning, contribution, and release processes
- Establish AI-forward design practice for agentic product surfaces
- Work in design and code, prototyping in production stack
- Review and validate AI-generated output before shipping
Must have
- 12+ years product design experience
- Several years owning design system at scale
- Experience with tokens, component architecture, and governance
- Comfortable working in TypeScript/React codebases
- Experience with Storybook
- Led design system migration or re-platform in production
- Designed AI-driven or agentic product experiences
- Used AI-assisted tools like Claude Code professionally
- Track record of leading through influence in flat structures
Nice to have
- Taken design system through framework migration at enterprise scale
- Contributions to open-source design systems or component libraries
- Experience designing for developer tools or data science
- Built design tooling or automation adopted by others
- Experience with converging or multi-product platforms
- Clear point of view on AI reshaping design practice
