The role
This is a 1099 independent contractor role for a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide home-based physical therapy services in the San Fernando region. The PTA will work under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, implementing care plans, educating patients, and documenting progress. The position requires travel to patients' homes and offers a guaranteed base pay with additional compensation per visit.

What you would do
- Travel to patients' homes to provide physical therapy treatment
- Review patient's plan of care and treatment goals before visits
- Provide skilled interventions like therapeutic exercises and gait training
- Train patients on safe use of assistive devices like walkers
- Implement and reinforce home exercise programs
- Educate patients and caregivers on mobility and safety strategies
Must have
- Current and valid Physical Therapist Assistant license
- Graduate of accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology
- Understanding of therapeutic exercise and rehabilitation principles
- Ability to implement a Physical Therapist's plan of care
- Knowledge of gait training, balance training, and functional mobility
- Strong observation and patient monitoring skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage mobile caseload
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to travel throughout assigned service area
- Comfortable providing care in patients' homes
Nice to have
- CPR/BLS certification
- Previous home health or mobile therapy experience
- Previous outpatient, orthopedic, neurological, or geriatric experience
- Previous community-based experience
What you get
- Guaranteed base pay of $840 per week
- Additional $35 per patient visit beyond daily base of 6
- Four 10-hour workdays per week
