The role
This is a 1099 independent contractor role for a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide home-based physical therapy in the Austin, TX region. What you would do
- Travel to patients' homes to provide physical therapy
- Review patient care plans and treatment goals
- Implement skilled therapeutic interventions per plan of care
- Train patients on assistive devices like walkers and canes
- Reinforce home exercise programs established by the therapist
- Educate patients and caregivers on mobility and safety
Must have
- Current and valid Physical Therapist Assistant license
- Graduate of accredited PTA program
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology
- Ability to implement a Physical Therapist's plan of care
- Knowledge of therapeutic exercise and gait training
- Strong observation and patient monitoring skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage mobile caseload
- Punctual, dependable, organized, and professional
- Comfortable providing care in patients' homes
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to travel throughout assigned service area
Nice to have
- CPR/BLS certification
- Previous home health or mobile therapy experience
- Outpatient, orthopedic, neurological, or geriatric experience
