What you would do
- Review professional and institutional claims for accuracy and compliance
- Validate patient, provider, insurance, and coding information
- Research and resolve claim edits, denials, and underpayments
- Submit corrected, replacement, voided, and appealed claims
- Follow up on outstanding insurance and patient balances
- Research payer policies and reimbursement guidelines
Must have
- 2-5 years in patient accounts or revenue cycle
- Knowledge of claims processing and appeals
- Understanding of payer reimbursement guidelines
- Working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 coding
- Experience with billing systems and payer portals
- Ability to interpret remittance advice
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines
Nice to have
- Medicare or Medicaid billing experience
- Experience with Raintree, Waystar, Inovalon
- Experience with Wellpoint Federal and ePaces
