What you would do
- Process podiatry billing claims using ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Review patient records for complete billing information
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits before claim submission
- Follow up on unpaid claims and conduct medical collections
- Maintain accurate records of billing transactions and communications
- Collaborate with providers to resolve billing or coding discrepancies
Must have
- 3+ years of podiatry coding and billing experience
- Strong knowledge of podiatry medical terminology and DRG
- Knowledge of coding systems ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT, HCPCS
- Familiarity with medical records management and reimbursement process
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication with healthcare professionals and patients
- Proficient in medical office software, EHRs, and billing systems
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance, fraud prevention, and audit readiness
Nice to have
- Certification in medical billing or coding
- Advanced certifications or specialty credentials in podiatry coding
