What you would do
- Review patient records and code dermatology procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and modifiers.
- Submit clean claims to minimize rejection and denial rates.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits before claim submission.
- Work denials by identifying root causes, appealing when appropriate, and preventing repeat issues.
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid claims and patient balances.
- Handle patient billing questions professionally.
Must have
- 3+ years of dermatology coding experience including MOHS and J-Codes.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, DRG, CPT, and modifiers.
- Proficiency with billing software and EHR systems.
- Takes ownership and works independently without hand-holding.
- Clear and professional communicator with providers, payers, and patients.
