The role
The Clinical Director provides professional clinical services to clients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. What you would do
- Conduct comprehensive assessments including screening, intake, biopsychosocial evaluation, and risk assessment
- Develop individualized treatment plans with clients using evidence-based practices
- Provide individual counseling, group therapy, family support, and relapse-prevention planning
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Facilitate relapse prevention groups and life-skills training
- Coordinate care with internal staff and external agencies
Must have
- Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field
- Current West Virginia clinician licensure (LPC, LCSW, or equivalent)
- Certification or eligibility as ADC or AADC via WVCBAPP
- At least 2 years of addiction counseling experience
- Competency in individual and group therapy and treatment planning
- Knowledge of evidence-based modalities like MI and CBT
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to manage caseloads and work independently
- Background check and drug screening may be required
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle if travel required
Nice to have
- Experience in rural or underserved communities
- Prior work in integrated SUD and behavioral health care
- Familiarity with medication-assisted treatment
- Experience with co-occurring disorders
- Commitment to recovery-oriented practice and peer involvement
