What you would do
- Provide supervised intervention for speech, language, and feeding disorders in pediatric clients
- Support assessments using standardized tools and clinical observations under SLP supervision
- Implement individualized treatment plans considering client age, abilities, and diagnosis
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication and functional strategies
- Use various AAC systems and access methods including eye gaze and switch access
- Demonstrate understanding of oral-motor, feeding, and swallowing intervention techniques
Must have
- Current and active SLPA license with appropriate state licensing board
- Completion of accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or equivalent
- Previous experience in pediatric speech pathology or related field
- Familiarity with communication disorders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build rapport with patients and parents
- Positive, patient, and professional demeanor
- Background clearance by DOJ and FBI
- CPR and First Aid certificates
- Ability to communicate confidently with clients, therapy team, and medical professionals
- Leadership skills to ensure clinic staff work towards common goals
- Professional empathy and ability to develop rapport
