What you would do

  • Design and own API contracts between libraries and products
  • Build the discovery layer for search and relevance
  • Create and maintain continuous delivery pipelines
  • Evolve engineering culture, standards, and best practices
  • Decide open stack questions with the team
  • Make search and curation work as one experience

Must have

  • Substantial experience building and operating production backend services
  • Strong TypeScript or comparable typed language proficiency
  • Willingness to work in strict-TypeScript codebase
  • Demonstrated ownership of API contracts in multi-service systems
  • Experience designing, versioning, and testing API contracts
  • Cloud operations depth with infrastructure as code
  • Experience with Terraform on AWS
  • Release engineering depth with continuous delivery pipelines
  • Effective communication with distributed teams
  • Ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical audience
  • Experience mentoring engineers
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience
