What you would do

  • Analyze and re-implement SAS logic in Python for functional parity.
  • Design end-to-end data pipelines for diverse data formats.
  • Profile and refactor code to eliminate performance bottlenecks.
  • Develop Python solutions interfacing with PostgreSQL.
  • Implement automated testing and data validation processes.
  • Maintain code quality through documentation and peer reviews.

Must have

  • Ability to read and interpret SAS code.
  • Experience with Parquet, SQL, JSON, and larger-than-memory datasets.
  • Experience with PySpark, multiprocessing, Dask, and code profiling.
  • Experience in Linux environments and cloud-native resources like AWS.
  • Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL integration.
  • Version control (Git), unit testing, and technical documentation.
  • Experience using Python to read and reformat large data files.
  • Experience improving code performance in production environments.
  • Experience writing high-quality, well-documented code.
  • Ability to perform basic Linux commands.
  • Experience in data validation in a statistical processing environment.
  • Must pass Census Bureau Security Investigation.

Nice to have

  • Five to seven years of related experience with back-end and front-end development.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • Experience in cloud computing, preferably with AWS.
  • Statistical Analysis System (SAS) programming experience.
