The role
Garan, Incorporated is seeking a Cybersecurity & IT Compliance Manager to support daily cybersecurity operations and the compliance program. This individual-contributor role, reporting to the Head of Cybersecurity, involves managing security controls, threat response, vulnerability management, audits, and risk assessments. The position is based onsite in Starkville, Mississippi, five days per week.

What you would do
- Support daily cybersecurity operations and act as technical escalation point
- Implement, maintain, and improve security controls across various domains
- Administer and strengthen Microsoft security technologies including M365 and Entra ID
- Monitor threats and coordinate incident response and remediation
- Coordinate vulnerability management activities including prioritization and tracking
- Support internal and external audits with evidence and control validation
Must have
- Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, IT, computer science, or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years of progressive cybersecurity or information security experience
- Strong knowledge of identity, endpoint, cloud, network security, and incident response
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 security, Entra ID, and Defender
- Experience with Intune, Conditional Access, and multifactor authentication
- Experience supporting audits, compliance, risk assessments, and control testing
- Working knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Framework and CIS Controls
- Experience coordinating technical projects across IT and business teams
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to translate technical risks for executives and nontechnical stakeholders
Nice to have
- Experience with enterprise firewalls, email security, and vulnerability management platforms
- Experience with privileged access management, SIEM, EDR/XDR, and SOC/MDR services
- Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture, PKI, data protection, and cloud security
- Experience working with cybersecurity vendors, consultants, or managed providers
- CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CCSP, GIAC, or Microsoft security certification
