About Descript

What you would do
- Own GCP, Kubernetes, Temporal, and GPU fleet infrastructure.
- Manage deploy and rollback machinery for all shipping.
- Participate in on-call rotation and improve reliability.
- Build and maintain AI enablement substrate for training and inference.
- Ensure security boundaries including IAM, secrets, and supply chain.
- Make infrastructure legible through IaC, runbooks, and observability.
Must have
- 8+ years building and operating production distributed systems.
- Experience leveraging AI agents to multiply impact.
- Run systems where failure was expensive and learned from consequences.
- Carried a pager, commanded an incident, and rolled back.
- Use SLOs and error budgets as operating tools.
- Used a major cloud provider and Kubernetes in production.
- Owned an architecture or migration from planning through launch.
- Found unowned work, scoped it, earned buy-in, and delivered it.
- Build minimal repro, read logs, and write targeted checks.
Nice to have
- GPU and ML infrastructure experience.
- Production security engineering in IAM, secrets, supply chain.
- Cloud cost modeling with commitment strategy and unit economics.
- CI/CD at monorepo scale and developer-environment work.
- Intricacies of video, media, or GPU-backed workloads.
