The role
Denari is hiring its first Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with accounting firm partners, identifying their highest-value problems and rapidly building, configuring, and deploying solutions on the Denari platform. The role involves using agentic development tools like Claude Code, defining success measures, and helping establish the FDE function. This is a hybrid role based in Madison, requiring three days per week in the office.

About Denari
Denari is building an AI-powered software platform for accounting firms that unifies client collaboration, document management, workflow automation, and financial insights. It is a small, well-funded team with a sister company, Lucida Tax + Accounting, that uses the product daily.
What you would do
- Work directly with partners to understand operations and identify opportunities.
- Design, build, configure, deploy, and maintain solutions within the Denari platform.
- Develop and customize agent skills and workflows in Denari Answers.
- Configure document schemas, user workflows, and automations.
- Use agentic coding tools to build integrations, automations, and prototypes.
- Make targeted contributions to the core product when needed.
Must have
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to build trust with partners.
- Curiosity and judgment to turn ambiguous business problems into technical solutions.
- Strong ownership, self-direction, and comfort without a predefined playbook.
- Pragmatic mindset for choosing between configure, automate, build, or no software.
- Confidence working across a broad range of systems and tools.
- Substantial experience using AI agents in day-to-day work.
- Experience using agentic development tools like Claude Code to build applications.
- Ability to measure outcomes and explain delivered value.
- Comfort working directly with customers with high responsiveness.
- Clear, honest, upfront communication.
