The Principal Engineer works across data engineering, analytics engineering, BI, data science, and data governance teams. Success is measured by technical clarity, reusable capabilities, and engineering leverage created for the entire team.

What you would do
- Define and evolve end-to-end data architecture across ingestion, Snowflake, dbt, Omni, and Hex.
- Translate business strategy into scalable technical roadmaps and platform capabilities.
- Establish technology boundaries for ingestion, transformation, semantic, reporting, and analytics logic.
- Architect secure, scalable, and cost-effective Snowflake environments for data products and BI.
- Partner with Senior Data Engineer on workload management, performance, and production support.
- Lead technical strategies for environment management, data access, and platform resilience.
Must have
- 8+ years in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Data Architecture, or related discipline.
- Experience as senior technical lead, staff engineer, principal engineer, or equivalent IC.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Snowflake including architecture, performance, and security.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and strong experience with Python for data engineering.
- Significant experience with dbt or comparable SQL-first transformation framework.
- Experience designing modern analytical data models including staging, dimensions, and facts.
- Strong knowledge of ingestion, ELT, orchestration, data contracts, and production support.
- Experience with Git, automated testing, code review, CI/CD, and software engineering practices.
- Experience defining architecture and technical standards while remaining hands-on.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and executive audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and drive technical alignment without authority.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.

- Experience with dltHub or another modern ingestion framework.
- Experience with Omni, Looker, or another governed semantic and BI platform.
