What you would do
- Write and optimize SQL to extract, join, and aggregate data across large relational datasets
- Use Python to clean, transform, and analyze data that doesn't fit neatly into a query
- Independently explore datasets to surface trends, anomalies, and opportunities
- Build and maintain dashboards and recurring reports that stakeholders actually use
- Partner with product and customer success teams to scope ambiguous questions into answerable analyses
- Investigate data quality issues and work with engineering to resolve them at the source
Must have
- 3+ years of professional experience in analytics, data, or business intelligence role
- Strong proficiency in SQL with joins, window functions, CTEs, and query optimization
- Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis using pandas, NumPy, Jupyter
- Hands-on experience with relational databases; PostgreSQL and Snowflake strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of Git for version control including branching and pull requests
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and scope own analyses from vague questions
- Track record of building dashboards and reporting that others rely on
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice to have
- Experience working with healthcare data including claims, EHR/EMR, eligibility, clinical, or patient-level data
- Familiarity with healthcare data standards and privacy requirements like HIPAA, PHI/PII, HL7/FHIR, ICD/CPT coding
- Experience with hospital cost and operations data including ERP, supply chain, resource utilization, and charge data
- Experience with dbt or similar modern analytics engineering workflows
- Experience with BI and visualization tools like Sigma, Tableau, Looker, Power BI
