What you would do

  • Write and optimize SQL to extract, join, and aggregate data across large relational datasets
  • Use Python to clean, transform, and analyze data that doesn't fit neatly into a query
  • Independently explore datasets to surface trends, anomalies, and opportunities
  • Build and maintain dashboards and recurring reports that stakeholders actually use
  • Partner with product and customer success teams to scope ambiguous questions into answerable analyses
  • Investigate data quality issues and work with engineering to resolve them at the source

Must have

  • 3+ years of professional experience in analytics, data, or business intelligence role
  • Strong proficiency in SQL with joins, window functions, CTEs, and query optimization
  • Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis using pandas, NumPy, Jupyter
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases; PostgreSQL and Snowflake strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of Git for version control including branching and pull requests
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and scope own analyses from vague questions
  • Track record of building dashboards and reporting that others rely on
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have

  • Experience working with healthcare data including claims, EHR/EMR, eligibility, clinical, or patient-level data
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards and privacy requirements like HIPAA, PHI/PII, HL7/FHIR, ICD/CPT coding
  • Experience with hospital cost and operations data including ERP, supply chain, resource utilization, and charge data
  • Experience with dbt or similar modern analytics engineering workflows
  • Experience with BI and visualization tools like Sigma, Tableau, Looker, Power BI
