What it is trying to claim: That the work was formally given to you.
Why it underperforms
Same shape as "Tasked with", and it has a second problem: read quickly, "Assigned" is ambiguous about direction. A reader has to work out whether you were assigned the work or you assigned it to other people. Any word that makes a reader re-read is costing you on a document that gets six seconds.
Stronger than "Assigned"
Not ranked. Each is right for one situation, and the situation is the column that matters.
