What you would do
- Obtain vital signs, conduct EKGs, perform phlebotomy, and verify medications
- Prepare exam rooms, obtain charts, and schedule tests for office hours
- Assist with examinations, procedures, and lab tests
- Administer medications, including vaccines and injections, under provider orders
- Direct patient flow and complete requisitions for special procedures
- Route phone messages and patient questions to appropriate personnel
Must have
- Registered or Certified Medical Assistant with six months related experience
- Medical Assistant credential from in-person proctored exam by NHA, AAMA, or AMT
- Basic Life Support certification with skills assessment component
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to obtain Medical Assistant certification within six months of hire
- Graduate of accredited nursing or allied health program with one year experience as substitute
