What you would do

  • Advise students on career choices, courses, majors, and professional school applications.
  • Support program data collection and analysis for program development.
  • Assist with student recruitment and retention activities.
  • Provide workshops, teaching modules, and program assessments.
  • Communicate with nursing and health programs to increase matriculation rates.
  • Advise student clubs and maintain relationships with faculty and admissions offices.

Must have

  • Bachelor's degree and three years of academic advising or related experience.
  • Master's degree in related field may substitute for one year of experience.
  • Knowledge of advising and counseling techniques for diverse student populations.
  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse students, faculty, and staff.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Willingness to travel and work some evenings and weekends.
  • Experience working directly with students or student services.
  • Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one by time of hire.
