What you would do
- Process prior authorizations and insurance referrals via web, phone, and fax.
- Obtain necessary documentation from electronic medical records and health IT partners.
- Document all patient, provider, and payer interactions accurately in medical records.
- Communicate with providers when insurance requires a peer review.
- Monitor and respond to inbound calls and correspondence about prior authorizations.
- Stay updated on payer websites and portals for authorization requirements.
Must have
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of work experience in medical or health insurance field
- One year of experience using Microsoft Office software
- One year of experience using electronic medical record software
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes and medical terminology
- One year of experience processing prior authorizations and insurance referrals
