What you would do
- Enter charges accurately and quickly for proper records and fast payment
- Initiate private pay collections after insurance cancellation or denial
- Obtain referrals, pre-authorizations, and verify benefits when required
- Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software
- Follow up on unpaid claims within the standard billing cycle
- Check insurance payments for accuracy and contract compliance
Must have
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum six months in a medical related field or training
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Good data entry skills
- Proficiency with computers and strong typing skills
- Good organization skills
- Proficient English verbal and written
