The role
This role provides mid-level data engineering, business intelligence, and applied analytics support to the Headquarters Marine Corps Installations and Logistics and the Global Positioning Network Program. The position develops and maintains data pipelines, SQL queries, and BI solutions while ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity and data governance requirements. It is a hybrid, full-time, contingent hire based at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

What you would do
- Develop and maintain automated ETL/ELT processes for GPN analytics.
- Create and optimize complex SQL queries and reusable scripts.
- Build secure, reusable data pipelines for analytics and reporting.
- Validate, cleanse, and integrate structured and unstructured data.
- Implement data quality controls and metadata documentation.
- Support BI architecture and reporting database maintenance.
Must have
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
- US Citizenship required.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant technical field.
- Four to seven years DoD data engineering experience.
- Experience with ETL/ELT process design and development.
- Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries.
- Experience with Python and data transformation libraries.
- Experience developing secure data pipelines.
- Experience with data governance and metadata management.
- Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity and records management.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Microsoft Fabric.
- Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
Nice to have
- Master's degree in related field.
- Experience with HQMC, Navy, or Joint Staff.
- Experience designing enterprise data warehouses.
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Snowflake.
- Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, Git, or Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with AI/ML data preparation techniques.
- Experience with data governance frameworks and catalogs.
- Knowledge of DoD Zero Trust Architecture and RMF.
