What you would do
- Verify insurance eligibility and conduct benefit investigations
- Submit, track, and follow up on claims to speed reimbursement
- Work aged accounts to resolve payment blockers
- Review EOBs and decide to rebill, appeal, escalate, or close
- Draft and submit well-documented appeals for denied claims
- Explain benefits and billing to patients with clarity and empathy
Must have
- At least 3 years of professional insurance billing experience
- Direct responsibility for billing outcomes on DME claims
- Hands-on experience with Brightree and NikoHealth
- Ability to read and interpret EOBs accurately
- Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding
- Understanding of HIPAA, CMS, ERISA, and ACA standards
- Clear and empathetic communication skills
- Detail-oriented and organized with multiple priorities
- Comfortable using AI tools in daily work
Nice to have
- Familiarity with other billing or EMR systems like Epic, Kareo, AdvancedMD
