The role
This role focuses on traditional Linux administration, bare metal infrastructure, and enterprise storage, excluding DevOps or cloud-native engineering. The engineer will design, build, administer, and troubleshoot large-scale Linux environments, with a strong emphasis on storage technologies like Ceph and SAN. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience with hardware, OS, and storage troubleshooting.

What you would do
- Design and administer enterprise Linux infrastructure
- Deploy and manage bare metal servers
- Troubleshoot hardware, OS, networking, and storage issues
- Administer advanced Linux storage including LVM, XFS, NFS, iSCSI, SAN
- Manage Ceph clusters including architecture and performance tuning
- Implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions
Must have
- Expert-level Linux administration with Ubuntu required
- Deep expertise in bare metal server deployment and architecture
- Strong understanding of server hardware including BIOS, RAID, firmware
- Experience with iLO, iDRAC, IPMI, NICs, HBA cards
- Advanced Linux storage administration with LVM, XFS, EXT4
- Experience with NFS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel SAN, multipath I/O
- Strong hands-on Ceph experience including cluster architecture
- Knowledge of Ceph MON, OSD, MDS, RBD, CephFS, RGW
- Ceph capacity planning, performance tuning, failure recovery
- Strong networking knowledge including bonding, VLANs, routing, MTU
- Experience with high availability, clustering, and disaster recovery
- Bash and Python scripting for automation

- Kubernetes infrastructure especially storage integration
- VMware or KVM experience
