About Tiny Health

What you would do
- Design, build, and maintain production AI systems and APIs.
- Own AI features end-to-end from prototyping to monitoring.
- Build and improve retrieval and grounding systems for accuracy.
- Develop evaluation and quality tooling for AI changes.
- Ensure performance, reliability, and observability of AI components.
- Collaborate with science and clinical teams on microbiome science.
Must have
- 4+ years building and shipping software with ML/LLM features.
- Solid machine learning fundamentals and model behavior understanding.
- Working knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation systems.
- Strong backend engineering in TypeScript or Python.
- Ability to debug non-deterministic AI system outputs.
- Experience measuring AI quality through evaluation.
- Experience with AWS and serverless architectures.
- Strong API development and system design skills.
- Comfortable in fast-paced remote startup environment.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with vector databases like Pinecone or Weaviate.
- Experience with LLM-as-judge evaluation or human-in-the-loop feedback.
- Experience with agent tooling, function calling, or MCP.
- Experience with observability, monitoring, and alerting systems.
- Previous experience in healthtech, biotech, or sensitive health data.
- Experience fine-tuning and self-hosting models for latency-sensitive tasks.
- Startup or small-team experience wearing multiple hats.
