About Rushdown Studios

What you would do
- Prototype and build cloud-based microservices in the backend.
- Contribute to a healthy technical culture encouraging engineer growth.
- Partner with designers to iterate on features for smoother player experience.
- Integrate first-party platform features and meet console certification requirements.
- Collaborate with external programmers to optimize feature performance.
- Develop new services and author software design documents.
Must have
- Four years of professional C++ experience.
- At least one year of professional Golang experience.
- Experience developing and shipping commercial games.
- Ability to write clear, maintainable, and portable code.
- Experience integrating with online systems and best practices.
- Experience building and debugging networked features for multiplayer games.
- Ability to dive into a game engine to complete a task.
- Proficiency with scalable non-relational databases like MongoDB or DynamoDB.
- Ability to navigate and integrate with cloud providers like AWS or Azure.
- Willingness to put player experiences first before own code and ego.
- Proactive communication to unblock self and navigate team obstacles.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with game server scaling and orchestration frameworks.
- Experience with PlayFab, Epic Online Services, or similar backend services.
- Experience with multiple game engines including Unreal Engine.
- Experience integrating Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo APIs.
- Experience developing SDKs or plugins for other developers.
