The role
ResortPass is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to lead the technical work and be the primary hands-on builder for the ResortPass API. The role involves evolving a production Rails and Postgres booking system, defining stable API contracts, and ensuring safe booking operations under failures. The position is based in NYC headquarters four days per week.

What you would do
- Build and launch the external ResortPass API
- Define stable versioned contracts for pricing, availability, holds, bookings, changes, and cancellations
- Design idempotency, recovery, webhooks, and reconciliation for failures
- Evolve the core booking domain with clear models and invariants
- Prove new categories can use the shared booking model
- Own architecture for supply, PMS, and POS integrations
Must have
- 6+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent impact
- Designed transactional systems and built external APIs
- Safely evolved data models in production
- Understanding of relational modeling, concurrency, consistency, and distributed failures
- Can lead a system as primary builder while collaborating
- Cares about correctness, testing, observability, and safe rollouts
- Communicates directly and improves work of others
Nice to have
- Ruby on Rails experience
- Marketplace or reservations experience
- Inventory-constrained commerce experience
- Public API or third-party booking system experience
