What you would do
- Code, test, debug, and document technical assignments
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Lead architecture and design of distributed, latency-sensitive trading systems
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers
- Drive cross-team technical decisions and influence engineering roadmap
- Document relevant details in wiki for self-sustaining product
Must have
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, IT or related field
- 15+ years writing highly performant, well-tested Java code
- Recent hands-on experience in real-time trading environment
- Building and maintaining multithreaded, distributed, real-time trading systems
- Designing highly distributed, fail-safe systems
- Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
- Strong communication skills to influence stakeholders and work cross-functionally
- Ability to optimize applications/systems for performance
- Demonstrated experience leading technical design and architecture decisions
- Experience mentoring other engineers
- Self-directed and self-motivated
Nice to have
- 3-5 years experience with Linux computing environment and scripting
- Network debugging and programming
- PostgreSQL or other RDBMS
- Data analysis using R
- Git or similar version control system
- Experience with 24x7 applications with limited downtime
- Knowledge of order handling and protocols such as FIX
- Market data processing and distribution
