What you would do
- Own over-the-air updates end to end across the fleet.
- Own fleet management infrastructure including device identity and provisioning.
- Build the observability stack for a distributed fleet.
- Own the OS layer including Yocto BSP and kernel configuration.
- Design and maintain build and release infrastructure for embedded targets.
- Partner with firmware, autonomy, and field operations teams.
Must have
- Strong computer science fundamentals and systems fluency.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in CS, Robotics, EE, or related field.
- 5+ years industry experience in embedded Linux or robotics platform engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Rust, C/C++, and Python.
- Linux systems programming including networking, IPC, systemd, device drivers.
- Experience building embedded Linux distributions with Yocto/OpenEmbedded or Buildroot.
- Hands-on experience with OTA update systems like Mender, RAUC, or SWUpdate.
- Fleet device management at scale including provisioning and remote access.
- Observability and monitoring infrastructure like Prometheus or Grafana.
- CI/CD, containerization, and cross-compilation for ARM64 embedded targets.
- Cloud infrastructure experience with AWS or equivalent.
- Strong debugging instincts across the whole stack.
Nice to have
- Embedded firmware programming on bare metal or RTOS.
- CAN bus systems for off-road equipment like J1939 or UDS/ISO-TP.
- Experience shipping software to fleets on unreliable connectivity.
- NVIDIA Jetson/Orin platforms and L4T.
- Secure boot, image signing, and key management.
- Deep understanding of ROS/ROS2 or similar middleware.
- Exposure to agricultural, construction, or off-road robotics.
- Experience building developer tooling for embedded teams.
